In Vancouver

Hello from Vancouver! I’m here to spend the last week of my long vacation (a month and a half!) before officially becoming a student again!

I flew out of Taiwan (sob), landed at LAX a couple of days ago, picked up my brand-spankin’-new MacBook, stayed a night at a Super 8 (which would definitely not expand to Taiwan under the same name), and arrived at a uncharacteristically sunny Vancouver! All that and it only took me about 27 hours to see M.

I’m currently staying in M’s basement, but despite how it sounds, it’s not all rainbows, butterflies and lollipops. I am staying with her family, whom I do not know well. I am also not really sure how I stand in the minds of her parents’… but judging from the fact that I’ve yet to be castrated, I’d say I’m doing pretty well.

Vancouver looks pretty much the same as the last time I visited, save for the blue skies. It’s almost been two years since I was last in this town, and it’s as pretty as it’s ever been (I’m sure the sunlight helped). Can’t believe that I’ve left this place for 4+ years already. Time flies when you are growing old. Though it does feel good to be back, especially to see old friends. 

The stay here will be short, but I’ll be back again….
